Q. Why is there a waiting list for eBooks/eAudiobooks? Shouldn't digital mean that anyone can get a book at any time?

Answer

You may have to place a hold on an eBook or eAudiobook to be put on the waiting list.

Some publishers and vendors of eBooks/eAudiobooks require libraries to lend a single copy of the book at a time to one customer at time. You may need to place a hold for eBooks/eAudiobooks from OverDrive, Axis 360, enki or OneClickDigital. Other vendors (Hoopla, Total Boox) provide “always available” titles with no waiting.
