My professor says I need to include permalinks. What are those, and how do I get them?
Answer
Permalinks are stable, durable links. Permalinks allow you to share database resources with others. When you’re often searching in a database, the links in the address bar are session-specific and expire after a certain time period (usually 24 hours). Because they are invalid after 24 hours, you should not copy and paste the links in the address bar.
To create a permalink, you will need SJSU's proxy URL
https://libaccess.sjlibrary.org/login?url=
Simply add this proxy as a prefix to the URL of the document (usually found in the citation). Refer to the Permalinks guide to help you create the permalink.
If you are in an EBSCO database, look for the Permalink option. A URL will appear, which you may copy, paste, and use for your assignment.
